Woman assisting with Cunupia murder probe

A Central woman is assisting the Homicide Division's investigation of the death of Devon Brown.

Brown, 32, of Balmain, Couva, died around 3 am on Monday at the Chaguanas Health Facility. He had been found wandering Esmeralda Road, Cunupia with stab wounds.

Police said after investigating a trail of blood which led to a house with a bar, they took a female occupant into custody.

Brown is said to have been stabbed by the woman, who said she was acting in self-defence because Brown tried to sexually assault her.

Homicide Bureau Region III is investigating.
