FAST BOWLERS Alzarri Joseph and Shannon Gabriel shared seven wickets between them on the opening day of the three-day West Indies inter-squad warm-up match, featuring the Jason Holder XI and the Kraigg Brathwaite XI, at the Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, England on Tuesday.

The Brathwaite XI, who were sent in to bat, were dismissed for 275 with Joseph claiming four wickets for 60 runs off 16 overs while Gabriel, who is recovering from ankle surgery, collecting 3/32 off 13 overs.

Also among the wickets were pace bowlers Kemar Roach (1/52), Preston McSween (1/42) and off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall (1/54).

Opening batsman Brathwaite, whose place on the Test squad has been questioned due to his poor form of late (both at the Test and First Class level), topscoring with 84 (162 deliveries, nine fours).

Shai Hope struck 83 (127 balls, 11 fours) and fellow middle-order batsman Roston Chase 37 (61 balls, four fours).
