Teen drowns at Blue Basin Waterfall

Anton Campbell, 17, drowned at Blue Basin waterfall on a family outing on Monday morning around 11.

Newsday was told Campbell, of Ramjit Road, San Juan, got into difficulty while bathing and was unresponsive when his family pulled him out of the water.

He died at the St James infirmary.

Police are asking the public to be careful during the reopening of beaches, rivers and bars across the country.

On Monday, the government lifted restrictions on beaches, bars, casinos, amusement parks, rivers, restaurants and sporting activities.

Public transport also returned to full capacity and all public servants returned to work.
