Woman dead in highway car crash

A woman is dead and five others others hospitalised after an accident which occurred on Sunday morning on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in Trincity.

According to reports, Nicole Figuera was standing at the side of the highway at about 9 am.

At the same time, three vehicles were driving along the highway in a convoy along the highway near Holiday Inn Express in Trincity, occupied by a group of men between the ages of 19 and 30.

The driver of a silver Nissan said he got a bad drive, and lost control of the car, which swerved off the road and slammed into Figuera.

She suffered severe damage to her legs and was taken to the Arima Hospital where she died.
