Venezuelan critical after Tobago fall

A VENEZUELAN man remains warded in stable but critical condition at Scarborough General Hospital after he fell from a scaffolding while doing work on Friday morning at the construction site of a building in Roxborough in Tobago.

According to reports, 21-year-old Emmanuel Rodriguez was plastering a wall while standing on some scaffolding 40 feet in the air when he slipped and fell.

Unconfirmed reports are that Rodriguez was impaled by the bars of scaffolding and his abdomen was ruptured. He was taken to the general hospital and underwent emergency surgery as doctors discovered he was suffering from internal bleeding after organs were damaged. Up to press time, Rodriguez was said to be conscious and in a lot of pain. Investigations are continuing.
