Tunapuna bar caught on fire

Fire officers are investigating a fire which partially damaged a Tunapuna bar early on Thursday morning.

Residents spotted smoke coming from the roof of the bar which is located off the Eastern Main Road at around 6 am and called the fire service.

Fire officers from the San Juan and Tunapuna stations arrived and extinguished the fire which was contained to a room in the bar facing the main road. Only one person was in the bar at the time of the fire and that person was not harmed. Investigators said they could not confirm what caused the fire or the cost of damage up to midday on Thursday.
