SHELDON Thomas, father of late local dancehall artiste Kwinton “K Lion” Thomas, has set up a GoFundMe page dedicated to a legacy fund for his granddaughter.

The singer died last Wednesday in Miami, Florida in the US after suffering a heart attack.

On the page, his father said, “We unexpectedly lost our beloved Kwinton on June 10, 2020 – a death that was felt worldwide. Kwinton was a very astute and positive young man with a heart full of love. His message of peace was growing, not only among the youth of Trinidad, but with higher-level officials as well. There is no doubt he would touch the world.

“In light of the overwhelming outpouring of love and requests to provide support, we have set up this campaign page. Your donations will directly support his legacy – his daughter, his music and his message.”

He said his son was an exceptional father, son, brother and friend, adding that his family and extended team are “extremely grateful” for the support during this time.

“He had a generous spirit, sharp wit and infectious laugh that will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.”

Out of the $30,000 goal, a total of $3,865 was donated up to press time.

One donator commented, “Prayers, love, and guidance. May we continue to cherish, embrace, and celebrate his music and his contributions.”

Another said, “I know him from a baby, and it made me proud to see him do great things.”
