Who is really in charge of SEA?

THE EDITOR: Who has more clout? The Minister of Education or the president of the TT United Teachers Association (TTUTA)? Who is the head honcho in charge of conducting education?

It boggles the mind at the thought that any trade union, at its whim and fancy, can proceed to “take over” the country from the sitting government. Are the emotional/financial comfort zones of teachers more important for preservation over the mental health of the students? And what of the long suffering parents? Are they just collateral damage?

There are no bombs dropping. This is no war zone. The children can take the exam any time allowed and still do well. They have been doing practice tests for the past how many years. What more is there to be practised?

Children are tough. Observe in war-torn areas that children can be seen still happily playing in the rubble.

The date for the SEA examination is August 20. End of story.

When do we wake up and smell the new normal covid19 political brand coffee?

The tail is not supposed to wag the dog.
