Fisherman back in court on sex charge

Rion Woods, 28, appeared before the Scarborough magistrate virtual court on Monday to answer the charge of sexual penetration of a 14-year-old. The incident is alleged to have occurred between February 29 and April 1.

Woods was granted $300,000 bail or $8,000 cash alternative. Woods was ordered to report to the Moriah Police Station fortnightly. He must also refrain from communicating with the victim. He will reappear in court on July 13.

Woods was in court on June 9 charged for grievous bodily harm after beating his ex-girlfriend with a television and a cutlass.
