UWI open campus will host a recruitment drive for students for the 2020/2021 first semester through an online platform.

UWI said because of the restrictions on public gatherings owing to covid19, two online recruitment fairs have been scheduled for June 18 and 25, from 6 pm and are expected to last for two hours.

Pro vice-chancellor and principal of the UWI Open Campus Dr Luz Longsworth said, “The management of the covid19 pandemic comes with several restrictions including physical distancing, and this has limited the ability of the campus to do face-to-face promotions across the region.

“The online recruitment fairs give us the opportunity to reach prospective students, provide all the information they need in one place, answer their questions and help them to make a decision about their university education.”

The first day of the recruitment fair will focus on all the online programmes, from certificate programmes to doctoral degrees.

It will also cater for the application process, documentation and registration processes as well as live demonstrations of the Learning Exchange platform, the medium used to deliver UWI's online programmes.

The second day of the recruitment fair will focus on the open campuses across the Caribbean and their development programmes. It will also include information about the application and registration process as well as the associated costs

UWI said key campus personnel will be available to answer students’ queries and there will also be live entertainment.

Live broadcast of both events will be via YouTube at https://www.open.uwi.edu/livestream and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/uwiopencampuscaribbean
