TT has 118th covid19 case

The Ministry of Health’s June 14 morning update showed that the number of samples which have tested positive for covid19 increased by one.

This now takes the number of local cases to 118.

The new patient is at Caura Hospital, it said.

The ministry explained in relation to the cruise ship that returned to TT on June 12 that 308 samples from those aboard had been submitted to CARPHA.

So far 153 tests have been completed.

One came back positive. This is the new patient, who has been moved to Caura for treatment.
There are 155 results pending.
The ministry said all the other cruise ship passengers remain quarantined on the vessel and there is no risk of local transmission in TT.

The number of samples submitted to CARPHA and the UWI site overall for testing is 3,895.

The number of deaths remains at eight and the number of people discharged at 109.
