Six on cruise ship test positive for covid19

SIX people aboard Enchantment of the Seas have tested positive for covid19, according to the Ministry of Health's update on Sunday evening.

The ministry's 6 pm update revealed five new cases aboard the cruise ship which arrived in Trinidad on Friday. The update made it six covid19 cases from the ship as the ministry had earlier on Sunday confirmed one new case from aboard the vessel. The latest cases takes TT's overall tally to 123 covid19 cases.

All the patients were transferred to Caura Hospital for treatment.

The remaining passengers on the cruise ship remain in quarantine on the vessel.

The ministry said "there is no risk of local transmission."

The total number of samples tested for covid19 is 3,995 with eight deaths and 109 recovered patients discharged.
