OILFIELD Workers Trade Union (OWTU) president general Ancel Roget on Sunday said there is no pandemic or election in the world that could stop the union from preaching its gospel to the country's workers. Roget was speaking during a thanksgiving service held at the OWTU Hall at Charlie King Junction, Fyzabad.

He declared the union "could not have stood the test of time against all the forces that stood against us and are still against us, if we were not rooted in faith and in Almighty God." As he praised God because no member of the union had contracted covid19, Roget said, "There is absolutely no pandemic, no disease invented in this world that will prevent us from saying praise to Almighty God."

After expressing optimism for a successful Labour Day (June 19), Roget said the union's trust in God will help its members to "come through all of the silly season that is about to start." He added that, through faith in God, people will "be able to know right from left, right from wrong and to do the right thing to ensure that our country is governed properly."

While TT is in deep crisis, Roget said, "Today there are people who could rejoice, simply because they have faith in Almighty God."
