Tuesday marks the fourth anniversary of the shooting death of 26-year-old Mark Kern Richardson and his mother is calling on anyone with information to pass it on to police.

"Four years have gone, and I am still waiting for justice. My son did not get a chance to live his life. So far, no one has been arrested. If anyone knows anything about it, go to the police," Andrea Richardson told Newsday.

On June 16, 2016, Mark was gunned down on Dottin Street in San Fernando. It happened on the road outside the gates of the apartment where he had only begun renting six months earlier. Mark, who worked with an air-conditioning company at Caroni Savannah Road in Chaguanas, previously lived at La Romaine. He was shot multiple times at around 6 am when a car pulled alongside him, and the occupant/s opened fire then sped off.

Richardson said, "Mark was on his way to work. He was fired upon with nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. It seems the killing was planned. I lost my only son. I have to live with his killing on my mind until I die."

Richardson has a surviving daughter. Mark, she said, was not married and did not have any children.

"He kept to himself. He was always working. He died going to work. He loved to look nice, he loved to dress up. He was very straight forward and maybe some people did not like that. I do not know who killed him."

Richardson told Newsday that not one day goes by without her grieving for him. She intends to remember him on his anniversary by cleaning and adorning his gravesite in La Romaine with flowers, as she normally does.

Homicide Bureau Region III police are leading investigations.
