$97,000? Absurd!

THE EDITOR: Ever since independence every government has promised good governance. One has to wonder just what they mean by that.

This week we have read about this Government renting a tent for one month for a whopping $97,000.

Let us see what could be done with that much money. Possibly rent 20 well appointed houses at $5,000 each. How about one well appointed house for $5,000. And subsidise 61 needy people at $1,500.

That action was totally ridiculous. Was any thought given to that transaction? Who approved it?

It pains me to think that every government transaction is done like this. It is no wonder that every contract is quoted in billions of dollars now.
