FIVE people were arrested when police raided an apartment complex in Morvant on Thursday afternoon. Police said Morvant CID and North Eastern Division Task Force officers went to the apartment building at Almond Drive, at around 4 pm.

Police searched all eight floors of the building and found 200 grams of marijuana. During the Corpus Christi exercise, five people who were identified as suspects in a spate of shootings in Morvant were arrested.

Investigators said all five are expected to be interviewed over the weekend with regard to a number of criminal activities. Police said the murders of Wayne Liverpool and Taurean Holder prompted this raid. Investigations are ongoing.
