Proposal for FIFA and TTFA mediation

THE EDITOR: I state from the outset that I hold no brief for anyone and have no interest in any position in the TTFA. All I seek is for peace and progress for our footballers and supporters of the game in our country.

This document aims to present a peaceful settlement to the dispute between FIFA and the United TTFA that may allow all parties to come away satisfied with the outcome as follows.

FIFA's "normalisation committee" will remain empowered to:

* Run the TTFA's daily affairs.

* Establish a debt repayment plan that is implementable by the TTFA.

* Improve the administration and financial skills of the TTFA.

* Review and amend the TTFA statutes (and other regulations where necessary) to ensure their compliance with FIFA statutes and requirements before duly submitting them for approval to the TTFA Congress.

* Examine and reconstruct where necessary the football leagues and clubs in TT.

* Organise and conduct elections of a new TTFA executive committee for a four-year mandate.

* Act as an electoral committee but none of its members will be eligible for any of the open positions in the TTFA election under any circumstances.

* Its functions will expire as soon as it has fulfilled all its assigned tasks, but no later than 24 months after its members have been officially appointed by FIFA.

* Perform any other business that they may be assigned by FIFA.

The United TTFA's displaced executive will:

* Withdraw all legal action against FIFA.

* Surrender all authority to FIFA's normalisation committee for a period of 24 months or as soon as it has fulfilled all of its assigned tasks as may be determined by FIFA.

* Have no financial authority over the TTFA's bank accounts or financial affairs.

* Have no authority to discuss or transact any business on behalf of the TTFA.

* Co-operate with FIFA's normalisation committee in its day-to-day affairs.

* Be willing to serve if called upon by the committee.

* Be eligible for election at the TTFA's next election of officers.

* And any other assignment as may be delegated by the normalisation committee.

I an proposing a new image for TT’s football. I pray that revival and excitement would be brought back to the game.

The world is already in an economic/financial tailspin from the coronavirus. Recovery will take a very long time, so I urge all concerned to let wisdom and vision prevail at this time.

This agreement will be binding by both parties.
