The adverse weather alert set by the Met Office has been discontinued.

The weather alert status has been downgraded to green, as bad weather begins to clear.

At 3 am on Friday the Met Office announced the country would be upgraded from yellow to orange alert, in response to a tropical wave travelling west across the Atlantic.

The alert ended at 4 pm on Friday.

A weather report issued at 6 am said TT would experience cloudy and overcast skies with periods of rain in several areas, with heavy thundershowers and winds in excess of 60 km/h.

Meteorologists told Newsday although there was a chance of street flooding, there were no reports of serious flooding.
