THE ENGLAND and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed proposed dates and venues for the impending England versus West Indies Test series, subject to government clearance.

In an article on the Cricinfo website, the Ageas Bowl in Southampton will host the first Test (July 8-12), with the second and third Tests at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester (July 16-20 and July 24-28). These matches will take place without spectators, due to the spread of the covid19 pandemic, and the players will stay at on-site hotels in biosecure conditions.

The West Indies are expected to carry 25 players to England (15 for the Tests and an additional ten for net sessions and practice matches), and are set to arrive on June 9, when they will travel to Old Trafford for a three-week quarantine period.

The ECB said in a media release that the venues had been chosen after meeting criteria relating to biosecurity, medical screening and testing provisions, their ability to uphold social distancing, and cricketing facilities.
