PRINCES Town MP Barry Padarath has requested a month’s leave from Parliament from the end of next month.

Speaker Bridgid Annisette-George announced to the House on Friday that Padarath had asked for leave for the period May 29-June 30 and that request had been granted.

A local media report said Padarath left the country on March 21, the day before TT closed its borders as part of its covid19 response. He travelled to the US and be with his adopted daughter. Some Princes Town constituents told the media they felt Padarath had abandoned them during the covid19 pandemic.

In August last year Padarath announced that he was the father of a three-month-old baby girl named Sejal Lara Padarath.
