Man jumps wall to duck bullets, bitten by pitbulls

A MAN is being treated for gunshot wounds while another is being treated for dog bites after an attack in Petit Valley on Monday morning.

Police said Shamarky McIntosh, 26, and a relative were at their Petit Valley home at around 10.45 am when they were approached by two gunmen who opened fire. McIntosh was shot in both legs and his back, while his relative managed to run off.

A 53-year-old man who was standing in the road nearby and heard the gunshots, jumped over a wall and into someone's private property to avoid the gunmen, only to be set upon by four pitbull terriers. He was bitten on his right hand and left thigh.

Both men were taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment. No arrest has been made and investigations are ongoing.
