THE TT Police Service (TTPS) cricket squad have joined several other sporting teams in helping needy families during the covid19 pandemic.

Members of the team distributed hampers to families throughout the country that have suffered immensely due to the lockdown measures implemented by the government, to combat the spread of the virus.

The hampers were worth $200 of Naisa Brand Products, and they include salt, sugar, corned beef, oil, peas and detergent.

Long-serving members of the TTPS cricket section, PC Amir Khan and PC Derek Nancoo, spearheaded the initiative. Khan said the Northern, Central, Eastern, Western and Southern divisions were targeted.

A release by the TTPS cricket section said, “We intend to continue with this venture all year. All the players contributed financially towards this.”

The TTPS encourages others to support if possible. “In life there would always be challenges and differences. However, when you’re in a position to help persons in need you should grasp at the opportunity and this is what we want to encourage.”
