Tobago man held with 20 kilos of marijuana on ferry port

A Tobago man was arrested while trying to board the Cabo Star cargo vessel with over 20 kilogrammes of marijuana on Friday night.

Newsday was told during an anti-crime exercise by officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force, the man began fidgeting as he sat in his vehicle drawing the officers' attention.

A search of the car and revealed 15 packages of marijuana. Police also found a firearm during the search of a second vehicle. The suspect, of Roxborough, was arrested and taken to the Scarborough Police Station.

He is expected to be charged later on Saturday for the offence of marijuana trafficking and will appear before the Scarborough Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
