Man stabbed to death, peacemaker wounded during fight

A man is dead and another wounded after a fight in St Anns on Thursday afternoon.

Police said Marlon Joseph, 42, got into a fight with another man at around 12.45 pm at Ariapita Road.

During the fight, the man broke a glass bottle and used it to stab Joseph in his neck.

A 24-year-old man, who was passing by, attempted to break up the fight but was also stabbed in his left arm.

Passers by took the wounded men to the Port of Spain General Hospital where Joseph was declared dead on arrival and the other man was being treated.

Belmont police and members of the Port of Spain Emergency Response Patrol went to the area where they found the suspect and arrested him.
