Members of the Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol found a car hours after it was reported stolen from its owner in Arouca on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the car, a Kia Cerato, was borrowed by the owner's brother at around 6.30 pm to meet a friend in Windy Hill, Arouca.

During the meeting, the car was stolen by the man's friend and two other bandits.

A report was made to the police and officers on patrol in the area saw the car at around 8.30 pm.

Police tried to stop the car which drove off taking officers on a minute-long chase.

During the chase the bandits jumped out of the moving car near Sherwood Park, Arima, and ran off into some bushes.

Police are searching for the men who stole the car.
