Two held, stolen car found

Hours after a car was reported stolen from the carpark of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, on Thursday, it was found and two people arrested in relation to the theft.

A police media release on Friday said the car, which was reported stolen on Thursday, was found near a waterfall in Bourg Mulatresse by members of the Northern Division Special Investigations Unit and the Northern Division Task Force West.

Two men, 20 and 21, were arrested in relation to the theft.

The recovery of the car was led by Snr Supt Sheldon David, supervised by Insp. Joseph and Cpl Dardaine.

The police are urging drivers to park in busy well-lit areas, near CCTV cameras if possible, get a professionally fitted car alarm system or an approved

mobiliser, use steering locks and never leave keys in the ignition, not even in a gas station while paying for fuel.

Drivers are also warned to avoid leaving valuables in their car, especially at nights, and to etch the car’s registration numbers onto all glass surfaces,

including windscreen and even headlamps.
