La Horquetta man charged with murdering nephew

A La Horquetta man has been charged with the murder of his nephew who was stabbed to death on May 11.

The accused, Joseph Als, 53, a mechanic of Phase 5 is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate on Monday. Als is accused of killing his nephew, Marvin Hosten.

Hosten, 26, also of Phase 5, was stabbed in the back and neck at his home and died at the scene. WPC Sargeant of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations charged Als on Friday.

Hosten, the father of one, moved into the La Horquetta home four years ago to help his uncle pay the mortgage and bills. Hosten was originally from Crown Trace, Haig Street, Carenage.
