50 new samples sent for covid19 testing

FIFTY new samples have been sent for testing to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and the UWI site for testing for covid19, according to the Ministry of Health’s update at 10 am.

Up to 10 pm when the last update was sent, the total number of samples sent was 2,597. At 10 am on Saturday the number rose to 2,647. The last positive case was recorded on April 26. To date, there is only one patient still in hospital with covid19. That patient is at the Caura Hospital and is said to be low risk and stable.

The update also confirmed that the number of positive cases in TT remained at 116 and 107 patients have been discharged.

The number of deaths related to the virus remains at eight.
