The 69 TT nationals who came in from Suriname on May 1 and are quarantined at the UWI Debe Campus will be released in phases on Friday.

The men were advised of their controlled release for Friday.

They will be released in pairs. Before being allowed to leave the campus facility, their bags will be sanitised by Sanitec and they will be made to take a Hexi scrub bath after which they will put on their clean clothing and be taken through the cold zone, two at a time.

According to the schedule, the decanting process will begin at 11.50 am and will continue up to 5.30 pm.

On Wednesday, the 69 got their second covid19 swab test and tested negative.

The group was first tested the day after they returned. Their results were negative.

They are under a mandatory 14-day quarantine. While they were satisfied with the facility, they are eager to return home to their families.

Most of the men were oil and gas professionals.
