55 new samples sent for tests on Tuesday

THE Health Ministry’s daily 10 pm covid19 update on Tuesday revealed that 55 samples were sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and the UWI testing site, over the last 24 hours.

The 10 am update on Tuesday, stated that as of that time, 2,358 samples had been sent. At the 4 pm update, the figure increased by 20 to 2,378 and then by a further 35 at the 10 pm update to end at 2,413 samples.

For Tuesday, there were 2,016 unique patient tests with 342 repeated tests. There was no change in the number of infections which stands at 116 and no change in the fatality rate which stands at eight

According to the worldometer website, which monitors the rate of the spread globally, as of 10 pm on Tuesday, there were 4,339,824 infections, 292,808 deaths and 1,602,091 people had recovered from the virus.

Only one recovering patient remains at the Caura Hospital.
