5 more samples sent to CARPHA, no other changes in covid19 stats

THE total number of samples sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and UWI for testing is now 2,312, after five more were sent overnight.

In its 10am daily update on Monday, the Health Ministry said there were no overnight changes to the number of  cases thus far – 116 – and the number of patients discharged - 107. The number of unique patient tests done is 1,971 and the total number of repeated tests is 341.

One stable, non-bedridden patient remains at the Couva Hospital. Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram, at the 10am virtual press conference on Monday, said this patient had been at the Home of Football step-down facility, but was moved back to the hospital as a precautionary measure after displaying symptoms.

The number of deaths remains at eight.

Parasram added that a patient who was at the High Dependency Unit of the Couva Hospital was discharged over the weekend after she returned negative results from two tests done within 24 hours.
