FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD Vinesh Tristan Ramnarine, dubbed the Little Showstoppa, released his first-ever solo track on Thursday.

Vinesh, the younger son of Dil-E-Nadan’s (DEN) lead singer Raymond Ramnarine, has been working hard on the Bollywood remake of Chalte Chalte while in lockdown during the covid19 quarantine.

Vinesh, the youngest of the group’s third generation of Ramnarines – DEN’s G3 – has collaborated with his dad, uncles and cousins in the past.

When he was just six, Vinesh teamed up with his dad to send a clear message against bullying. That effort was called I am a Star.

He also collaborated with his brother Varun and cousins Amish and Arvind, who all make up G3, on a track called Bane Chahe Dushman, which speaks about brotherhood and friendship.

Vinesh Tristan Ramnarine, dubbed the Little Showstoppa, released his first recording, Chalte Chalte, a remake of the Bollywood hit.

The Chalte Chalte song, Raymond said, translates to “We hide our emotions so well that sometimes we can’t understand what’s going on in our beloved’s mind. But the place where love resides, our hearts leads us to there.”

Raymond, who has inspired his children and nephews to be the best they can be, believes his younger son is ready to take on a solo role.

“Vinesh has an energy and lovable character on and off stage. He is a very confident kid. I think he is ready.”

Although the song is a Bollywood remake, it has been tweaked to give it a local flavour and the DEN brand.

“We added new music and arrangements. Richard (Raymond's brother) and I did the music. It was recorded at Bakyard Studio and engineered by Richard.”

The solo was released on all radio stations this week as well as on Raymond’s YouTube channel.

Vinesh is a form three student of Naparima College, San Fernando, who is focused on his academics as well as extra and co-curricular activities.

While maths is his favourite subject, he is an all-rounder, dabbling in fine art for which he has quite a passion. He is also an avid sportsman, with a preference for basketball, and a musician.

In addition to being gifted with a sweet voice, Vinesh plays the drums and pan. He is studying music and has earned distinctions up to Grade 4.

“These children are all focused academically and doing great things, but music is a huge part of their lives,” Raymond said.
