PNM Tobago Council chairman Stanford Callender on Wednesday congratulated Ancil Dennis who was elected as the new Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly. Dennis, 33, replaced Kelvin Charles earlier on Wednesday to become the youngest-ever Chief Secretary.

In a media release, Callender said he always knew Dennis had a bright future in politics.

He said, "Ever since his entry into representational politics, I have always maintained that our new Chief Secretary has a bright future. In 2013, he became the youngest-ever Assemblyman in the THA and today marks another red-letter day in his blossoming political career."

Callender said Dennis shows the "wealth of leadership talent" in the PNM and the trust the party places in youths.

"Today, as a party, we renew our commitment to the sustainable development of our island and our country. Moreover, we renew our commitment to the inclusion and development of the next generation of leaders movers and shakers in our society."
