Deyalsingh: Medical equipment works 95% of the time

Medical equipment is now operating at 95 per cent of capacity, said Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh, while answering questions at the daily covid19 press briefing on Monday.

Deyalsingh said over a six-month period, the ministry and the public health department came up with a programme of preventative maintenance for sophisticated equipment to ensure that it worked a minimum of 95 per cent of the time.

“Something will go down from time to time, as it does around the world, but our uptime has increased significantly and the time from shutting down to getting back up has reduced. Incidents of shutting down are fewer.”
