922 beds for covid19 patients

There are 922 beds available for the parallel system designed to combat covid19.

So said Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh at the daily covid19 update held at the ministry in Port of Spain on Monday.

Deyalsingh said overall, the country had 3200 beds to deal with medical problems in hospitals, but with the addition of beds obtained for the parallel health care system over the past four months, there are nowmore than 4,000 beds.

“That is a massive increase. So the medical response is robust,” Deyalsingh said.
