Business moving along swiftly

Lines at businesses in San Fernando on Wednesday morning were moving swiftly as people attended to their errands, while practising safety measures amid covid19.

Those lined up at TTpost’s office on Coffee Street said the service was fast and efficient and staff was helpful. The same was experienced at Pennywise on Pointe-a-Pierre Road.

The Pennywise manager who wished to remain anonymous said customers were complying with the rules and expressed no problems with lining up outside the establishment, at a safe distance. She said employees were also provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and sanisters to ensure safety.

A manager at JTA supermarket at the Carlton Center, who asked not to be named, said they anticipate an increase in shoppers this weekend because at month-end most people do their shopping.

“We are monitoring the number of people that come into the grocery and will restrict accordingly. Markers were put on the sidewalk to give people a guide to maintain a safe distance from others.

“We have also set up a sink and provided soap for people to wash their hands before entering the establishment. Our shoppers have been cooperating so far. Police on High Street were seen ensuring taxi drivers were complying with the rule of only half the usual number of passengers in vehicles.
