Disgusted is putting it mildly

THE EDITOR: Could you imagine if Al Gore decided to call a presser to announce the events of 9/11 before George W. had been given an opportunity to respond?

Or if defeated Republican Wendell Wilkie held a fireside chat with America to tell them about what happened at Pearl Harbor before Roosevelt had the chance?

Or if Chamberlain, and not Churchill, led the call for British boats of all sizes to journey to Dunkirk to rescue the thousands of stranded British servicemen?

Or if Patrick Manning tried to take charge of the armed forces when the events of 1990 were unfolding? Unprecedented. Unnecessary. Ugly politicking. I'm deeply disgusted and troubled.

This has a troubling parallel with that episode which occurred while she was Prime Minister and she acted unilaterally in announcing that both Panday and Manning would be receiving the nation's highest award. But only, this is far worse.

There is a time and a place for everything and for everyone. This is one time that the Opposition Leader should have known her place. Let's hope that when karma comes around to repay her usurpation, that she is allowed a pause to see and know the irony of her circumstance.
