T&TEC: No covid19 among staff

The TT Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is has denied reports that there are confirmed covid19 cases among its staff.

In a media release on Wednesday, T&TEC denied rumours that any of its staff were diagnosed with the virus, after reports spread that eight workers had been quarantined to control the spread of the infectious disease.

The release sought to reassure the public that there were precautions in place to treat with communicable diseases even before the first case of covid19 was reported in TT.

The release also reminded the public that T&TEC service centres remain open for bill payments only in order to reduce physical contact between customers and other customers ,and customers to staff, in keeping with social distancing protocols.

Customers are also encouraged to utse T&TEC’s website (www.ttec.co.tt) to pay bills and make service requests such as new connections, temporary disconnections, account transfers, relocation of poles, meter checks and updating contact information.
