My covid19 suggestions

THE EDITOR: Faith without works is dead, so while I and many others continue to pray that the covid19 does not reach our shores, there is a high likelihood that it may reach. To this end, we are already seeing some institutions taking the appropriate steps to reduce possible community spread.

I commend both the Catholic and Anglican churches for taking the steps to safeguard their faithful. However, I’ll like to see the Ministry of Health also collaborate with other institutions to create new measures/policies - some of these are:

Gyms and Fitness groups for which instructors/owners need to have proper guidelines for disinfecting equipment after each use;

Arcades and casinos which require constant sanitizing;

Hotels and guest houses: Updated policies to ensure bedding is changed (and not merely remade) as well as thorough cleaning of rooms and common areas;

Public swimming pools and water parks at which visible signs should be placed throughout the facility reminding patrons of proper hygiene;

Primary and secondary schools: usage of air condition units in the classrooms should be desisted or minimized;

Public Transportation: PTSC buses, water taxis and maxi taxis should also be sanitized after each disembarkation and AC usage minimized, and;

Restaurants and street food vendors: Daily visits from Health inspectors.

I hope these institutions could work alongside the Ministry of Health and other relevant Authorities to minimize the impact this virus may or may not have on us.
