Let her death be last

THE EDITOR: The really sad thing about the death of Mukeisha Maynard is that no one would lose his or her job for this abject bungling of this child abuse matter.

The cries of Mukeisha’s aunt and grandmother should have been enough to alert several authorities that something was wrong. Not one took the bull by the horns. They dropped the ball.

You know what will happen? Everybody will “buss up their mouth” until the death of the next Mukeisha.

TT is a place where no one loses his job or steps down because of dropping the ball. What a shame.

I propose that people be appointed in every community as official “child abuse scouts.” While the job of intervention is with the Child Protection Unit, and the police, these people can point out the house in which abuse takes place to the authorities.

Let Mukesiha’s death be the last as a direct assault is launched against child abuse.
