Patterns onstage distract

THE EDITOR: At the Dimanche Gras show on Sunday, there was a very busy colourful pattern in a prominent central position on the surface of the stage.

While I realise it must have been part of the “decor” by the organisers, the colours and patterns distracted from the kings and queens’ costumes.

I hope in future the surface of the stage will be left clear so that there will be no visual conflict with the design and colours of the costumes.
