The body of a dead baby was found at the Beetham Landfill on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the child, who appeared to be between one and three months old, was found by workers of the Solid Waste Management Company (SWMCOL) at around 2 pm.
They called the police and members of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I went to the scene along with staff from a funeral home, who took the body to the Forensic Science Centre, St James. An autopsy was expected to be done on Thursday.
Police said it would difficult to track the mother, as that would require finding which truck brought the baby's body to the landfill.
On November 25, the body of a three-month-old baby was found at the Beetham Landfill.
