Ministry: Come collect registration cards

The Mininstry of National Security issued a press release, both in English and Spanish, on Friday evening advising Venezuelans that Immigration offices will be opened today and tomorrow to facilitate their collectiing of registration cards.

This follows hundreds of Venezuelans lining up outside immigration offices across the country hoping to either collect the cards or get some word from officials on how and when they could do so.

The following is the full press release issue by the ministry.

ENGLISH

Port of Spain: The Ministry of National Security wishes to advise the general public that the Immigration Division will be opened on Saturday January 18, 2020 and Sunday January 19, 2020 to distribute registration cards to Venezuelan nationals.

Venezuelan nationals who registered under the Migrant Registration Framework during the period May 31, 2019 and June 14, 2019 can collect their registration cards at the Immigration Division, Government Campus Plaza, 3-9 Richmond Street, Port of Spain between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.

Venezuelan nationals are reminded that they must walk with a form of identification and their registration receipts to collect their registration cards.

Puerto de Espana: El Ministerio de Seguridad Nacional desea informar al público en general que la División de Inmigración abrirá sus puertas el sábado 18 y domingo 19 de enero de 2020 para distribuir tarjetas de registro a ciudadanos venezolanos.

Los ciudadanos venezolanos que se inscribieron bajo el Marco de Registro de Migrantes durante el período del 31 de mayo y 14 de junio de 2019 pueden retirar sus tarjetas de registro en las oficinas de la División de Inmigración, ubicada en Government Campus Plaza, 3-9 Richmond Street, Puerto España entre las 8.00 a.m. y 3.00 p.m.

Se recuerda a los ciudadanos venezolanos que deben presentarse con algún documento de identificación y sus recibos de registro para retirar sus respectivas tarjetas de registro.
