"You will get your new school, " Dr Keith Rowley told a representative of the Santa Flora Government Primary School on Monday night.

He was  responding to questions at the latest Conversation with the Prime Minister at the Palo Seco Government Primary School.

Rowley said 24 priority schools have been identified for completion at a cost of $800 million.
He said he believed the Santa Flora school is among them, and blamed problems inherited from the previous administration for the delay in many projects.
The school representative told Rowley that Friday marks three years since the Santa Flora school was relocated to the Beach Camp facility. Staff and students were supposed to be there for six months. But work on the new school had stopped. It is 80 per cent complete.
Palo Seco is one of nine municipal districts of the Siparia Regional Corporation.
At the meeting, residents raised concerns about the issues they faced.

One woman had problems getting a certificate of comfort, though she said she had been living since 1986 on land belonging to the now-defunct Petrotrin.
A representative of the Warao people said the Government had promised lands to the indigenous group and she wanted a follow-up.
Rowley promised to investigate it.
On local government reform, he said the bill in Parliament involves amending 16 areas of law. He said the Government has made considerable progress on this.
He also said there are about three major garbage collectors nationwide.

"They do as they please. Some have big trucks in narrow areas; some get paid for work not done.
“Only a month ago, the court ruled it was wrong. It took us two years in the court."
