THE EDITOR: According to the 2019-2020 budget presentation, the Government acknowledges that the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) remains the backbone of transportation of our citizens. As such it intends to increase the bus fleet by 25 before the end of the year.
Congratulations on the intentions of the Government in this regard. However, all these excellent plans will have little or no impact on the travelling public if the PTSC continues to:
* Provide irregular service to some areas, eg the Port of Spain-Arima route.
* Retain some discourteous bus drivers.
* Use dirty and smelly buses.
* Give unhelpful information about schedules at the information centres.
PTSC must get its house in order to make the Government look good in the area of public transportation.
