Backward country

THE EDITOR: Generally speaking we are a backward country in many respects and if you think that comment is unwarranted take a look at the Beverage Container Bill that has been in Parliament for 20 years with no end in sight as we continue to desecrate the environment.

The floods last week showed in stark reality the disgusting refuse which washed up at Williams Bay where people go to swim, the same people that throw rubbish everywhere.

So what’s next, another 20 years? If there was any doubt that our politicians are just a bunch of jokers, this is it.
