Beaten man found dead behind vegetable stall

POLICE are asking the public’s help to identify a man who was found with his face bashed in behind a vegetable stall in Woodland on Saturday morning.

According to a police, at about 8.10 am, the owner of the stall was preparing to sell his produce when he spotted the dead man. He contacted the police.

Investigators said the man's face was bashed in. He is of African descent and had on blue three-quarters jeans and a white T-shirt.

It is believed that he may have been beaten to death and his body dumped behind the stall on SS Erin Road in Woodland.

A district medical officer pronounced the man dead and ordered its removal to the Forensic Science Centre.
