20 illegal immigrants held in PoS

TWENTY female foreigners, including two Venezuelan girls under the age of 18 were arrested by police during a raid at a well-known hotel on Dundonald Street in Port of Spain.

They were all in the country illegally,

According to a release sent by the police, the exercise was conducted between 9.30 pm on Friday and 4.15 am on Saturday and co-ordinated by Ag ACP (Crime) Jayson Forde and Ag Supt Lancaster Ellis and included Port of Spain Task Force and Canine Branch units.

Police went to the hotel where they found 11 Venezuelan nationals including two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old, along with five Dominican Republic women and one Cuban. Police checked their documents and discovered they were all in the country illegally.

The women were taken to several police stations for processing, while investigations continue.
