A day of activities started off with a market and fair at the Nelson Mandela Park and this was followed by a mini-concert and then the parade at 1.30 pm through the streets of Port of Spain. The day's events culminated in a mini concert.

OUT AND PROUD: Masqueraders incorporated colourful umbrellas in the parade and to help keep them dry from the rain.

Pride TT frontman Rudolph Hanamji said that the large turnout for the parade showed that the LGBTQI movement is alive and well in this country.

"Even as the rains fell, the turnout was really great. There is no rainbow without rain so we thank members of the community and their allies for coming out because they understand the importance of equality despite gender or sexual orientation," Hanamji said.
