Ronnie & Caro launches July 26

ENTERTAINER Ronnie Mc Intosh and his wife Caroline, trading as Ronnie & Caro in the mas business, will be launching their 2020 mas presentation Serengeti, on social media on July 26.

It is the second consecutive year that Ronnie & Caro will be launching their band on social media.

Mc Intosh said: “This style of launch is very cost effective and the way to go.”

However, he said the cost of the professional photo shoots of models in costumes for the uploads on social media is a pretty penny.

He then sought to explain what is Serengeti.

Mc Intosh liked it to big park area in Kenya while according to Wikipedia, states: “The Serengeti is a vast ecosystem in east-central Africa. It spans 12,000 square miles (30,000 square kilometres), according to NASA, giving rise to its name, which is derived from the Maasai language and means “endless plains.” This region of Africa is located in north Tanzania and extends to southwestern Kenya.”

But on July 26, he said: “The Serengeti will meet the pavement lime,” referring to the location of the currently expanding mas camp at the corner of Ana and Warren Streets in Woodbrook.

The first section of Serengeti is expected to be uploaded at 8 pm, on Instagram and Facebook, after which an interview or two will be done on live social media, then a cut away to some cooking being done on the spot before the next section is uploaded.

All this will be shown on a big screen set up on the pavement outside of the mas camp.

Mc Intosh said that will be the process throughout the night until all 14 sections are uploaded, and there may even be live models.

Some sections will depict Kenya’s language, national flower, bird and the Maasai tribe.

“We are still tweaking the names of the sections, but we have about ten days to do it.”

He added: “This year we are going with an international theme because we have always done local stuff before.”

Of the bands 14 sections, seven of them will be guest sections.

Asked if he will be doing any live performances on the night, Mc Intosh said tongue-in-cheek: “I stop performing for Ronnie & Caro because they don’t pay! But with artistes coming for the pavement lime anything is possible.”
